Two appliances and one water carrier were sent tackle a large quantity of refuse on fire at the property on the city’s Henderson Drive at 5.55pm. Six hours later, a spokeswoman for the fire service crews were still in attendance. A fire service spokeswoman confirmed that “a large quantity of refuse” had caught fire. The station, a large warehouse, collects council and other refuse for onward transfer.
