An appeal for information has been launched after a garden hedge was “deliberately set on fire” in Inverness.
The fire was discovered just before 9pm on Saturday in a garden backing onto an alleyway between Fairfield Road and Trafford Avenue.
The blaze was extinguished by the fire and rescue service but police said there was a “real danger of properties possibly catching fire from this incident”.
Police say that four youths, three boys and a girl, were seen running away from the area at the time when the fire was discovered.
They are all thought to be aged between 13 and 17 and were all wearing dark coloured hooded clothing.
A police spokesman said: “Anyone that has any information with regard to this incident or to the identity of the youths are urged to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org”
