A man was left with serious facial injuries after an apparently unprovoked assault in a popular Inverness city centre bar.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident in Hootananny, on Church Street.
A force spokesman said that they received reports of an assault on a 25-year-old in the upper bar of the pub at around 2.30am on Sunday.
The attacker has been described as aged in his mid 20s to early 30s, and 6ft tall.
He had dark hair which was gelled in a comb over style.
The man was wearing a black or dark green Ralph Lauren t-shirt, dark blue jeans and black shoes with white stripes on the sides.
