Leading politicians and trade union representatives will speak at a rally against austerity measures in Inverness this weekend.
Hundreds of people are expected to march through the streets of the Highland capital on Sunday in protest against the Conservative government’s austerity programme.
The SNP will be represented by Highland MP Drew Hendry, while other speakers include Jean Urquhart MSP, Andrew Denovan from the Autism Awareness Group, Isla O’Reilly of the Scottish Greens and trade union representative Lorcan Mullan.
Socialist politicians Lyndsay Jarrett from Solidarity and Jenni Gun of the Scottish Socialist Party complete the line-up.
The rally will be the first of its kind in the Highlands and start at Bught Park, followed by a march to the Market Brae Steps in Inverness city centre where the speeches will be held.
The event has been organised by the Inverness branch of the Radical Independence Campaign.
