Works by a group of Inverness artists are to go on show at the city’s historic Town House.
The Art Society of Inverness will hold its annual exhibition in the grand setting next month.
The Town House was the original location for the display, which started in 1944.
However, in recent years the event has been held in the Eastgate Shopping Centre.
The society expects to have more than 200 artworks on display, covering a variety of subjects, including landscapes, portraits, pets, still life and abstracts, most for sale.
Society president Eric Allan said: “Our artworks are a means of communicating with those who view them, and we are delighted to have members of the public come just to browse, free of charge, and simply enjoy the paintings.
“If people wish to buy, they will acquire something meaningful and of course make the artist happy to have his or her work.”
A preview will be held on July 10, when past-president Ronnie MacDonald will present prizes for the best work.
The show will be open free of charge to the public from July 11-18, excluding Sunday, July 12.
