Works by a group of Inverness artists will go on show in the city’s Town House later this month.
The Art Society of Inverness will be staging their annual exhibition in the historic building from July 11-18.
The Town House was the original venue for the display, which started in 1944, but in recent years it has been held in the Eastgate Shopping Centre.
The Society’s 1995-97 president, Ronnie MacDonald, will open the exhibition at the preview on Friday, July 10, and present prizes for outstanding works of art.
The display will then be open to the public on Saturday, July 11, from 11am-5pm, and on Monday to Friday the following week from 10am-5pm and on Saturday, July 18 from 11am-4pm.
More than 200 artworks will be on display, covering a variety of subjects, including landscapes, portraits, pets, still life and abstracts, and most of the work will be on sale at a range of prices.
Society president Eric Allan said: “Our artworks are a means of communicating with those who view them, and we are delighted to have members of the public come just to browse, free of charge, and simply enjoy the paintings. If people wish to buy, they will acquire something meaningful and of course make the artist happy to have his or her work appreciated.”
