Firefighters were called to the property in the Gordon Terrace in the Crown area of the city at around 4.40am after the fire was discovered. The fire, which was contained to the kitchen of the building, was fully under control by 5.15am. A spokeswoman for the service confirmed that an oven had been destroyed by the blaze. Two crews from Inverness attended the incident and used a hosereel jet and breathing apparatus to fight the fire.
