Firefighters have been at the scene of the fire all night in Kiltarlity tackling the blaze which broke out at around 6.15pm on Sunday evening. The hay bales were stacked in a 20ft high barn in the village, with damage caused to the building and its contents. A fire and rescue spokeswoman confirmed that around 200 had been destroyed. At the height of the fire a crew from Beauly and three from Inverness were at the scene, as well as a water carrier unit. The Beauly appliance is still at the barn with a “watching brief” over the incident. A police spokeswoman said that the force are aware of the fire and said that an investigation would be carried out.
