The collision happened on the A862 Inverness to Adullie,just north of Beauly. Emergency services were called to the crash site about 5.20pm. Three fire appliances from Beauly, Dingwall and Inverness were all needed at the scene and crews had to cut one of the motorists from his car. He was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital, in Inverness, a short time later. A police spokeswoman has said his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
