A man will appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today after a disturbance in a residential area of the city at the weekend.
Police were called to the new housing scheme in Assynt Road on Saturday afternoon at around 12.40pm.
A 44-year-old man was arrested.
It is understood that no one was injured.
It comes after reports on social media suggested a man had brandished a sword in the area, close to where children were playing.
A police spokeswoman said: “Police Scotland can confirm that a 44-year-old man has been charged and is anticipated to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday August 31, in relation to a disturbance which occurred at around 12.40pm on Assynt Road, Inverness on Saturday August 29.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
