Bear Scotland staff examined the bridge which carries the A9 Inverness to Perth road over the Raigmore Interchange. The inside lane of the roundabout was coned off, while some of the slip roads leading onto the junction were also reduced. The work began at 8am and was cleared ahead of schedule by 3pm. But the works caused traffic jams, with vehicles queuing back along the A9 towards the Longman Roundabout. It also queues on the A96 Inverness to Aberdeen road for vehicles approaching the Highland capital. A spokeswoman for Bear Scotland said that no “major delays” had been reported to their control room.
