An internationally-renowned expert on health inequalities and ageing will give the keynote speech at an event in Inverness next week.
Professor James Nazroo is professor of sociology and co-director of the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research at the University of Manchester.
He will discuss inequalities and how they could be tackled during the event, which is being organised by NHS Highland.
It will be held at Smithton Church on Thursday, September 24 from 10am-12.30pm.
Other speakers include Donald Macleod, chairman of Highland Carers Improvement Group, and Simon Steer, NHS Highland’s head of strategic commissioning.
Cathy Steer, NHS Highland’s head of health improvement, said: “Health inequalities in Highland have long been a matter of concern for us and we are sure Professor Nazroo’s contribution to next week’s event will help to inform our thinking on the issue.”
