Motorists are being warned to expect delays on the A9 in Inverness on Saturday when thousands of fans flock to the city to see Caley Thistle take on local rivals Aberdeen FC.
Police are advising the public of the potential for a large volume of traffic in the area of the Caledonian Stadium before kick-off and also after the match.
They also said that traffic would be busy because of competitors arriving for the Baxters Festival of Running, which take place in the city on Sunday.
A force spokesman said: “In particular, please expect delays in the area of the Kessock Bridge roundabout and in the vicinity of Longman Road near to the stadium before and after the football match.
“Motorists are also reminded to be aware of pedestrians crossing roads as they walk to and from the match and are asked to be patient and drive with consideration for all road users.
“Those travelling to this fixture should set off early and allow plenty of time for their journey. If you are not travelling to the match, please plan your journey accordingly and use alternative routes where possible.”
