A man was rescued from a Torridon mountain after talling unwell. The hillwalker, who is in his 50s, had to be airlifted from Liathach to Raigmore Hospital. He was taken by Inverness-based coastguard helicopter Rescue 951. A police spokesman described the rescue as a “medical matter”. He confirmed that the alarm had been raised by other walkers at about 12.45pm on the Munro. His condition is not thought to be serious. Members of Torridon Mountain Rescue Team were also called out but were stood down before reaching the casualty. A spokesman for the team said that they had been in contact with the helicopter and were not required to help.
