A man has admitted breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s flat and throwing her belongings into the street.
Alexander Morrison struck the front door of Kirsty MacPhee’s property repeatedly before climbing on to the balcony and managing to get inside.
Inverness Sheriff Court heard he was angry because she was with another man.
Morrison, 23, of 3 Bridgeview Drive, admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing and repeatedly striking the door.
Fiscal Karen Smith told the court that at around 7am on January 11 Morrison went to see his ex-partner at an address they had previously shared at Harbour View.
He was unable to open the flat using his key and after banging on the door to get in he soon became aware that his former partner was inside with another man.
Ms Smith added: “He was not best pleased.
“He climbed up on to the balcony and got into the flat that way and started to argue with Kirsty MacPhee and went round the house and picked up items of clothes and threw them outside into the street below.”
Police received three calls from neighbours about the disturbance but Morrison had gone by the time they arrived.
He went to the police station around lunchtime the same day after being told officers were looking for him.
Ms Smith added: “The information given to police was that Mr Morrison was highly intoxicated at the time and police noted that he was very upset that his ex-partner had brought another male home.”
Morrison’s agent, solicitor Marc Dickson, said: “On reflection, my client wishes to apologise for the way he behaved.”
Sheriff Margaret Neilson deferred sentence for six months to allow Morrison to be of good behaviour.
