Scores of fans in Inverness were left disappointed after an event featuring reality TV star Joey Essex was cancelled just days before it was due to take place.
Essex was to make a guest appearance at the new Highland Fashion Week event, HI Flock, on Sunday.
But instead, according to his Twitter account, he spent part of the weekend at a fashion event in Paris.
A spokeswoman for the Highland Fashion Week said it was “an unfortunate clash of dates” that led to the cancellation of Essex’s appearance at Inverness’s Ironworks.
Fans who had paid between £25 and £35 for tickets would be reimbursed or given tickets for a re-scheduled appearance by Essex – probably next year.
“About 300 tickets were available and had sold well. It is just disappointing that we had to cancel because of this unfortunate mix up,” she added.
Director of Highland Fashion Week, Garry James, said: “We are obviously disappointed that we have had to cancel the HI Flock event on Sunday.
“We are offering anyone who has already purchased a ticket to HI Flock to receive either a full refund, or are encouraging guests to hold onto their ticket for the next HI Flock event, which we will then re-issue once the date of the event and Joey’s return is confirmed.”
The Highland Fashion Week, which featured separate events showcasing local and national fashion designers as well as locally sourced models, was set up to help bring new talent into the Scottish fashion industry, and highlight the range of talents throughout the area.
The planned appearance by Essex was one of the expected highlights to try and attract a younger audience.
It was recently revealed last week that Essex earns more than Prime Minister David Cameron and Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne combined.
He is estimated to have earned around £420,000 from November 2013 to June 2014 since quitting ITVBe show TOWIE.
When he is not filming his Educating Joey Essex series, the star is managing a string of business ventures which include a fragrance, hair product and clothing range.
Essex has since sunk some of his cash into a new £1.6million mansion in Chigwell, Essex.
And he was rumoured at the weekend to be dating singer Perrie Edwards, the former girlfriend of ex One Direction band member Zayn Malik.
The 22-year-old Little Mix singer was reported to have enjoyed a string of dates with The Only Way Is Essex star, but her spokesperson denied any romance.
