A 33-year-old Inverness man who tried to escape the clutches of police by hiding in a bush after he had been drunk driving was banned from driving for five years at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
Arturs Fridenbergs, 29 Cameron Road, admitted driving while over five times the legal limit in city streets on New Year’s Day.
He also admitted having no insurance and attempting to pervert the course of justice by running away from police.
He was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work by Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood.
