Traffic chaos on A9 as wind closes bridges and car blocks road

Motorists travelling on the A9 at the Kessock Bridge and Dornoch Bridge have been warned to take care as high winds hit the region.

Traffic Scotland has placed restrictions on both northbound and southbound traffic, with wind speeds currently ranging between 35mph and 50mph.

It is unclear at this stage how long the restrictions will stay in place for.

Meanwhile a car has broken down on the at Berriedale Braes Berriedale blocking the road and causing traffic to slow.
