Princess Anne will officially open the new Inverness College UHI building later this month.
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, who is chancellor of UHI, will tour the £50million facility and unveil a plaque to mark the occasion on Tuesday, November 17.
More than 400 invited guests will then gather at the college for the UHI Foundation Day ceremony, an annual event celebrating the endeavours and successeses of students, staff and supporters.
Princess Anne will present honorary awards and prizes and music will be provided by student band, Tannara.
The event will conclude with a guest lecture by the award-winning writer and director Douglas Mackinnon, who is known for his work on television series such as Doctor Who, Sherlock and Outlander and on the 2006 feature film, The Flying Scotsman.
This is the first time the UHI Foundation Day has been held in Inverness, as the event was held in Shetland last year and in Fort William in 2013.
