A thief has fled with a bicycle worth several thousand pounds that was padlocked to a Highland lamppost.
Police want to hear from anyone who can help trace the road bike  – a white Boardman Elite SLR 9.0S, 2014 model – taken from Nairn.
It was stolen between 11am and 11.30am yesterday from a public area in the town’s Society Street.
The owner told police that it had been secured to a lamppost with a covered padlocked chain.
That model of bike was priced at almost £3,000 when it first went on sale.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the Society Street area at the time or has any information about the possible whereabouts of the bike should call the force on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
