A 36-year-old man has been detained after an alleged stabbing in Inverness.
Police were called to a disturbance inside a property at Woodside Place in the Westhill area of the town, at about 10.40pm on Sunday.
A 38-year-old woman and 43-year-old man were taken to the city’s Raigmore Hospital with “serious” injuries, although police have said they are not life-threatening.
Officers cordoned off the property for most of yesterday, and forensics officers could be seen through the ground floor windows of the house carrying out their work.
A single police car remained on scene until the forensics team had finished their investigations by about 5.30pm.
A police spokesman said: “We’re treating the incident at Woodside Place as a serious assault at this time.

Last night neighbours said that on Sunday about five police cars – including a dog unit – and an ambulance arrived on the scene.
One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said: “I could hear lots of banging and shouting.
“When police turned up they had to batter the door down. A police dog and its handler went in and there were two police officers with pepper spray at the ready.
“You don’t expect this kind of thing to happen in our area.”
