Inverness Airport is seeking to replace the doors at a hangar holding light aircraft.
The airport’s operator Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd (Hial) have advertised for a contractor to carry out the work.
Hial took over the hanger, which is within the boundary of Inverness Airport, in 2005.
The building had been constructed in 1990 and Hial say its “concertina” style doors have “deteriorated over time and have come to the point where they are considered beyond economic repair”.
The hangar houses light aircraft and these will be relocated during the work.
It is estimated that the contract for the works will be awarded by May 13.
