The first acts have been announced for the return of a the “nightclub under the stars” on the shores of Loch Ness.

Acclaimed DJ and producer Duke Dumont, who has had two number one singles, will headline Groove Loch Ness.

The Dores festival is returning for a second outing in August after a successful first edition last year at the site which formerly hosted RockNess.

Duke Dumont is best known for his chart-topping singles Need U (100%) and I Got U

Joining him on the bill is German DJ Alexander Ridha, better known by his stage name Boys Noize, in his first Highland appearance since 2010.

The event has also promised a mystery special guest to be announced soon – who is “sure to be a firm favourite for festival goers”.

The festival is organised by a group of partners from the north’s music scene including Joe Gibbs of the Belladrum Festival, Caroline Campbell of Inverness venue the Ironworks and Sam Barker who led the same group’s recent venture Groove Cairngorm.

They are led by Dougie Brown of both Belladrum and the Ironworks.

He said: “We are delighted to announce the line-up for Groove Loch Ness 2016 and being able to welcome an amazing selection of DJ’s to the Highlands again this summer to what is one of the most breathtaking festival settings anywhere in the world.

“After the huge success of our first outing we can’t wait to recreate some of that magic again this year, expect another incredible visual show from our friends at Double Take Projections and Limelights along with a few other surprises along the way.”

Yesterday Mr Brown also announced a number of other acts including Grammy-nominated DJ Mark Knight of Toolroom Records, Glasgow-based Optimo and upcoming DJ duo Camelphat.

The single night event will be held on Saturday, August 20 and tickets are currently on sale at the festival’s website.

Around 4,500 people attended the first edition of Groove last summer, and it was hailed as a success.
