A 39-year-old Inverness man admitted entering his former partner’s home uninvited and struggling with her to the point that she sustained cuts and bruises to her head.
Colin Kerr, of Room 6, Winmar Guest House, Kenneth Street, admitted the charge when he appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday.
He was subject to a community payback order for a similar type of offence when the incident happened on March 15 this year.
Sheriff Margaret Neilson deferred sentence until May 13 for background reports and Kerr was remanded in custody.
Fiscal depute Stuart Maciver told the court that Kerr had met his former partner, Yvonne Murray, in the town centre on the day of the incident and that they had an altercation.
She returned home and later in the afternoon became aware of Kerr, who tried the front door handle which was locked and then entered through the back door.
Mr Maciver said: “She was there on her own and described him as being aggressive when he came in, verbally and with body language. He was shouting and swearing at her and appeared to have considered that she was seeing other people at the time.
“It then became physical. She had been on the couch and there was a fairly physical struggle between them which led to cuts and bruises around her head.
“At some point in the incident her son had phoned and she was able to speak to her son and he overheard the background noise of the accused being aggressive to his mother. Her son arranged for someone else to phone the police.”
Police attended and apprehended Kerr.
