A team of seven people is preparing to kayak the full 50-mile perimeter of Loch Ness to raise money for charity.
The challenge, which is believed to be the first of its kind, is scheduled to take place at the iconic Highland beauty spot on July 2.
The team hopes to raise £6,000 to buy state-of-the-art equipment to help patients at the MS Therapy Centre in Oban.
Centre director Helen Forteith said: “I’m delighted to be partaking in this challenge along with my husband John Forteith.
“Our son was diagnosed with MS at the age of 16, and this equipment will help MS patients build their arm and leg muscles regardless of how disabled they had become.”
Her husband Mr Forteith, who has previously raised money for the centre, said: “The piece of equipment will also be used by the local general hospital to treat severely physically affected patients suffering from a variant of conditions, not just MS.”
The challenge is expected to take up to 16 hours, and the team will have the local coast guard and RNLI on hand during the event.
The kayak challenge has won the support from local businesses, including Inverness-based Cobbs Bakery, Oban Kayak Centre, as well as Mrs Tilly’s and Queezibics confectionery who will keep the team fuelled with tablet and ginger biscuits.
The team has already raised £3,000 to date and is hoping for further backing to reach its £6,000 target.
