A power cut which affected a number of shops at the north’s biggest retail park was caused by a faulty transformer.
At its worst point, 14 stores at Inverness Shopping Park were affected by the outage on Tuesday afternoon for more than three hours.
A team of SSE engineers worked throughout the evening to bring the stores back on grid.
SSE spokesman Duncan MacDonald said: “It was caused by a fault on the transformer part of the network that supplies the retail park. Sometimes a fault just develops, we have identified what the fault is and it has been replaced.
“Everything is on at the moment. There are two businesses on via the generator and it’s the same power as the main network. We are going to work with them for a suitable time of minimal inconvenience to come and get them back on the main network”.
Tesco, Vue cinema, DW Sports, Burger King, Pizza Hut and Homebase were unaffected by the power cut.
