A man has been assaulted with a weapon in an overnight disturbance in Inverness.
Police have launched an investigation after the incident which left the man with injuries to his head and body.
The incident took place at about 1.30am on Laurel Avenue in the Dalneigh area of the city.
The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesman for the force said: “Police are carrying out inquiries in the area and are keen to speak with anyone who was on Laurel Avenue Inverness at the time of the incident, or who has information that could assist to call Inverness Police on 101 or speak to any officers.
“Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
