The man failed to return after setting off from Brevig on the Isle of Lewis in his home-made vessel yesterday morning. Stornoway Coastguard launched a major search after a call from concerned relatives at about 8pm last night. The missing man did not give details of where he intended to go and does not have a radio or mobile phone with him. It is understood his three-metre blue and black boat was found earlier today. A spokeswoman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said the search was continuing.
