A man has been killed in a two-car crash on a north-east road.
The incident occurred at around 11.30am this morning on the A98 Cullen to Fochabers road, near its junction with the unclassified road leading to Findochty.
A fire crew from Buckie attended the scene and firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free one of the casualties from the wreckage.
A helimed was also sent to the scene.
The vehicles involved were a silver Renault Megane and a blue Rover 75.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Sadly, one of the drivers, a 77 year old male, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
“A passenger and the driver of the other vehicle have been conveyed to Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin for treatment.
“Next of kin have been informed.”
The road reopened at around 7.30pm.
