Two people are recovering in hospital today after being struck by a van outside a north-east supermarket.
The accident took place just after 7pm on Edgar Road, just yards away from the town’s Asda store.
Three ambulances attended and a man was seen being stretchered into the back of one.
A woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s are understood to have been taken to Dr Grays hospital in Elgin but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Last night a police spokeswoman said that both people were “conscious and breathing” but offered no further details on their condition.
Today, both are receiving medical care but the extent of their injuries is not yet known.
The road was closed for some time last night while police and emergency services dealt with the scene but reopened at around 7.40pm.
