A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash on a busy Moray road.
The A96 was closed following a two-car accident at the junction with Wittet Drive in Elgin at about 3.40pm.
The woman was travelling in a red Honda Jazz when it collided with a G-Med doctor’s car just yards from the town’s Dr Gray’s Hospital.
Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene with the road closed while they were there.
Witnesses reported seeing the woman being lifted into an ambulance on a stretcher before being taken the short distance to the accident and emergency department.
A police spokesman said: “The collision was between a Honda Jazz and a Skoda Octavia on the A96 at Wittet Drive at 3.40pm.
“A female was taken to accident and emergency for some precautionary checks. The road was closed while the ambulance was at the scene but traffic is moving again now.”
