Police have issued a warning to Moray families after a teenage girl was approached by a suspicious man in a car.
The youngster was on Elgin Road in Lossiemouth between 1pm and 2.30pm on Sunday when the man, believed to be in his 40s, stopped his vehicle and asked if she would like a lift home.
The girl, who was not harmed in any way, reported the incident to police.
PC Andy Kerr said: “At this time there is nothing to suggest that anything untoward was intended, however we would like to trace the man who was driving the car so we can establish the full circumstances.
“He is described as a white male with short dark hair and had tattoos on one arm.
“His vehicle is described as a white four door with a black interior.
“Extensive inquiries are currently ongoing however I would ask anyone with information to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 if you would prefer to remain anonymous.”
