Four teenagers have been charged following a vandalism spree in Moray’s biggest town.
Offensive images and sectarian slogans were scrawled across homes and fences in Walkmill Grove in Elgin.
In the days after the graffiti was smeared on the walls, police launched an appeal to trace a group of young people seen in the area.
Yesterday, it was confirmed four boys, aged 13 and 15 and two aged 14, will be reported to the youth justice management in relation to the drawings and slogans.
Constable Gemma Low led the enquiry to track down those responsible for the vandalism that was discovered on Saturday, January 21.
She said: “I would like to thank the members of the public who assisted in the enquiry and provided information regarding this incident.
“Police remain committed to tackling this type of anti-social behaviour and will continue to take a firm stance to deter this behaviour in the future.”
Police are continuing to appeal for information about the vandalism and anyone who knows of anything suspicious should phone 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
