More than 100 whiskies will go under the hammer this month to fund improvements in a Speyside village.
A collection of rare and exclusive drams will take their place alongside high street favourites at the annual Craigellachie auction.
This year, the £4,000-valued Macallan Robert Burns Semiquincentenary, which comes in a wooden box with its own poem, is one of the most expensive lots on sale.
A Ghillie’s Dram from the same distillery, which comes with a map of the firm’s River Spey locale, and is worth £800, is also expected to attract significant interest.
Last year’s sale raised more than £21,000 with about £6,000 going towards funding improvements to the village.
Jane Tweedie, chairwoman of Craigellachie Village Council, said: “It’s one of the few places you will get something as an investment on sale next to something for your Christmas cake.
“It has developed a reputation as a very professional event, meeting the aspirations of sellers and buyers, while attracting international whisky fans.
“We own the village hall. Last year, we refurbished the kitchen and, this year, we’re wanting to do the toilets and the pavilion in the park – the auction helps us considerably.”
Online bids from abroad have been received in the past and international attention is expected again for the more exclusive items.
The auction, which is being held for the fifth time, takes place on Sunday, April 30 as part of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.
Those wanting to sell bottles should download forms online from www.craigellachie.org.uk and email jane@craig515.plus.com before April 15.
