The alarm was raised at 4.09pm and three Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances were sent. A fire spokesman said the fire was in a derelict building and was “well alight” when crews arrived. Breathing apparatus and jets were used to extinguish the blaze and it was brought under control at 5.17pm. The spokeswoman added that two pumps remain at the scene to dampen down hot spots.
