Firefighters were called to a disused building at a Moray port after it went up in flames yesterday.
Crews were called to a derelict toilet block at Buckie Shipyard, on Blantyre Terrace, shortly after 4pm.
They battled to get the blaze under control and subsequently spent hours at the site, dampening the venue down and making sure it was safe.
A spokesman for the fire service said: “We had three appliances there, from Buckie, Fochabers and Keith.
“The fire was in a derelict building and was well-alight when crews arrived.
“We used two jets to get it under control.”
Buckie Shipyard is located at the east end of the town’s harbour and has been placed on the market by Moray Council as a “development opportunity”.
The building dates back to 1903, but the business went into administration in 2012 and dozens of jobs were lost.
A brochure prepared by the local authority to attract buyers said it was ideally suited as an operations base for an offshore wind farm or for cargo handling and manufacturing.
