Police in Elgin are looking for a member of the public who came to the aid of a man who was allegedly assaulted.
A 36-year-old man was attacked on Saturday morning at 9am when he was walking near the A96 at South College Street and East Road.
It is believed a passer-by came to his aid from a black pick-up truck.
Constable Brian Donaldson said: “A 25-year-old man has been charged in relation to this incident. However, we are keen to speak with a man who stopped to see if the victim was okay, shortly after the assault happened.”

The meeting of Moray Jazz Club on Thursday, June 22 will feature a performance from the Sarah-Jane Scott Quintet. The club meets at Elgin City Football Club social club. Doors open at 7.30pm. Entry £6, members £4.
The Moray Resource Centre in Elgin will host an open day on Thursday, June 22 from 10.30am to 2.30pm to showcase the services and groups based in the building.
The first Dufftown ceilidh of the season will be at the British Legion on Thursday, June 22 at 8pm. Elgin Strathspey and Reel will be playing with performances from the Dufftown Pipe Band and the Alison Gordon Dance School.
A raffle will be held for the Dufftown Highland Games. Entry £3, children free.
