A youth band is preparing to hit the high notes on a tour of continental Europe.
Moray Concert Brass has lined up a 12-date tour of Holland next month as part of the group’s 25th anniversary.
However, before they leave their homeland, the band will take to the stage in Elgin for a feel-good concert to end the school year in style.
Songs including Katrina and the Waves’ “Walking on Sunshine” and Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke” are included in the programme to herald the summer break.
And money raised from the concert will be used to fund the group’s European expedition in July.
Conductor Glenn Munro is eager for the concert to become another part of the band’s 25th birthday celebrations.
He said: “We had an amazing weekend at the beginning of the month when world-class trumpet players Rex Richardson and Mike Lovatt joined players, old and new, on the stage at Elgin Town Hall.
“It was a truly amazing concert. We’re hoping to continue the party atmosphere at this concert as we play some of our favourite music in a relaxing atmosphere, full of high spirits at the thought of the summer holidays.
“As on previous tours, the band will be great ambassadors for Moray and its young musicians.”
The concert will take place at the Eight Acres Hotel in Elgin on Friday, June 30 at 7.30pm. Entry is £6, £4 concessions.
