Two people are being treated in hospital for suspected broken bones following a three-vehicle crash in Moray.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were all called to the scene on the A95 at the A941 junction near Craigellachie at around 12.20pm this afternoon.
Two individuals were initially trapped in their vehicle and had to be freed by emergency workers.
A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed the pair had complained of ankle and chest injuries.
Both were taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for treatment.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We received a call from police at around 12.28pm and mobilised appliances from Rothes, Keith and Fochabers.
“Firefighters worked to stabilise the vehicle and then applied first aid to the casualties.”
Eyewitness Tim McGrath said: “I must have just missed the crash itself by minutes. Some were still getting out of their cars as I approached.
“Something really need to be done about that junction. I live locally and I’ve seen and heard of a lot of accidents there.”
One of the cars involved is understood to have been a blue Mazda six but details of the other vehicles are not yet known.
The road remained blocked for a number of hours but was reopened at around 3.20pm.
