Drivers on Moray’s busiest road faced long-tailbacks earlier today following a two-car crash on the outskirts of Elgin.
Police were called to the incident shortly after noon after the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Golf collided on the A96 Aberdeen road near the 40mph speed limit signs at the east of the town.
Both cars were severely damaged.
A police spokeswoman explained both drivers received “very minor injuries” in the incident.
She said: “We were called to the area at 12.10pm, following a two-car collision on Barmuckity Street at the A96 just outside Elgin.
“Both drivers have been able to get out with very minor injuries, nothing serious. An ambulance was called as a precaution.
“The eastbound carriageway was blocked following the collision, causing congestion.”
