A driver had to be cut out of her car after it flipped onto its roof on a Moray road.
The Volkswagen Golf smashed into a ditch after it left the carriageway on the A941 Elgin to Rothes road at the weekend.
The female driver managed to escape without serious injuries despite her car being wrecked.
Only one door remained attached to the severely-damaged vehicle following the crash and the impact of rescue attempts.
Air bags were deployed in the vehicle, due to the force of impact that left it resting upside down against an embankment.
Tyre tracks were left across the road, leading to the point where the car came to a stop.
Police closed the road for almost two hours on Saturday afternoon after being alerted to the accident near the Glen of Rothes Trout Fishery at about 4pm.
Motorists were forced to take detours as fire fighters worked at the scene to free the trapped driver.
The motorist was subsequently taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin for medical checks.
Saturday’s incident happened just over a month after a 4×4 car rolled down an embankment on the same road on the northern approach to Rothes.
A police spokesman confirmed just one vehicle was involved in the most recent accident and the driver was the only person inside.
He said: “We were called at 3.50pm after reports of a car in a ditch.
“There was one female injured inside the car and she had to be cut out of the vehicle.
“She did not sustain any serious injuries, but was kept in hospital overnight to be monitored.”
A fire spokeswoman added: “One casualty was trapped in a vehicle. We used hydraulic cutting equipment to release her before leaving her in the care of the ambulance service.”
