Enthusiastic fundraisers from across the north-east have raised more than £10,000 for charities by going head-to-head in a series of challenges.
More than 200 competitors clambered over inflatable obstacles to battle it out to be crowned the sixth “It’s a Knockout” champions in Buckie.
Hundreds of spectators were at the town’s Linzee Gordon Park yesterday to cheer on their favourites.
Each team collected funds for their own cause, including MND Scotland, the Sandpiper Trust and the local lifeboat.
Entrants battled the blustery conditions as well as each other across the challenging obstacle course.
The contestants tried to push each other out of a ring wearing massive sumo wrestler suits while teams had to work together in other physical challenges.
Several teams competed in fancy dress as super heroes or as characters from television shows, including Baywatch.
Children did battle in the morning with the “Terrific Ten” team pulling out all the stops to win.
In the afternoon it was the turn of the adults with a team of shop workers, known as the “Crusaders”, seeing off the competition.
Preparations have already started for the return of the energetic challenges next year with Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland named as the chosen charity.
Away from the inflatable fun the crowd was entertained by a rousing performance from the Buckie Pipe Band.
Organiser Denise Thomson was amazed at the amount of money raised at yesterday’s colourful event, which is expected to top last year’s total.
She said: “We never raise enough, you always want to collect more but it really is an excellent amount this year.
“I’m never sure if we’ve put enough on for it but every year it seems to grow and get better.
“It’s been a great day. The main thing is making sure everybody has fun and they’ve certainly done that.”
