Twenty firefighters battling blaze at Elgin recycling plant

Firefighters are battling a blaze at a council recycling plant in Elgin.

The fire has taken hold at Moray Council’s waste centre on Moycroft Road and four appliances are at the scene.

Emergency services were first alerted at about 4.15pm.

There are currently 20 firefighters attempting to get it under control.

A spokeswoman for the service said: “There is a large quantity of household waste on fire.”
