Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following a “sneak-in theft” at a home in Elgin.
The incident happened between 10.30pm on Monday and 1.30am on Tuesday in the Smith Street area of the town.
A handbag, personal property and cash were taken.
Inquiry officer Rosanagh Davison said: “This has been an upsetting incident for the people involved and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in that area to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0757 of 14/11.
“We are also urging people to review their home security. Make sure all your windows and doors are locked even if you are at home. We would also ask that you keep an eye on neighbours in your community who may be more vulnerable and if you see anything concerning report it to police.”
