Officers are appealing for witnesses following a number of reports of thefts from forestry sites in the Moray area.
The incidents are understood to have happened in the Forres and Llhanbryde areas between the end of January and yesterday, February 6.
Items including equipment and tools have been taken.
The value of the items taken is estimated to be around a low four-figure sum of money.
Inspector Graeme Allan said: “We are urging anyone who has noticed anything unusual or suspicious in the area to get in touch with us. We would also ask that anyone who is offered equipment or tools related to the Forestry industry contacts us.
“We continue to urge operators in the area to be vigilant with regards storage and security measures.
