A teacher’s joyous celebration of school being snowed-off has proved an online sensation – despite leaving his own toddler “embarrassed”.
Lewis Telfer, who teaches the P1 and P2 class at St Peter’s Primary School in Buckie, reworded Beyonce hit Love on Top into his own tune entitled Made School Stop in response to recent snow days.
The 27-year-old, who lives in Portknockie with his wife Rebecca and two-year-old son Cody, had to remain at home on Wednesday, Thursday and yesterday due to the conditions.
Admitting to growing restless, he decided to put his spare time to good use by recording an exuberant ode to the chilly weather.
In the video, Mr Telfer dances through his sitting room and hall while singing before finishing the ditty by lying spread-eagled deep in snow in his garden.
Yesterday, he said that it being viewed upwards of 6,000 times had taken him by surprise.
“I think I was singing at home as I missed doing it in the classroom, and my wife and I just decided it would be funny to film it,” he said.
“The only person who doesn’t like it is my own two-year-old, who put his head in his hands with embarrassment and just said ‘off, off’.”
Mr Telfer said that, despite his joy at the unexpected time off, he was equally happy at the prospect of returning to work on Monday.
