An investigation has been launched following the death of a young mother in a Moray town.
Nicole Munro, 23, from Forres, was found dead within her home with the cause currently being treated as “unexplained” by police.
Her three-year-old daughter and six-year-old son were popular with nearby residents, who bought them gifts to celebrate special occasions.
It is understood that the children were not in the home when the death occurred.
Yesterday, police remained outside her house while investigations to establish the cause continued.
Meanwhile, tributes have poured in for the mother, who ran her own business in the beauty industry.
One neighbour said: “It’s so heart-breaking what has happened. She was so young. They are such a polite family, always willing to lend a hand.”
On social media, Lydla Williams said: “Still trying to get my head around the news. You were one amazing person. Fly high beautiful, we will miss you so mach.”
Sarah Jones added: “So sad, can’t believe you have been taken so soon. Fly high with them angels.”
Forres councillor George Alexander added: “I don’t know what happened but regardless of this, the loss of such a young life is tragic and my sympathy goes out to the lady’s family and friends.”
A police spokeswoman said: “We were called in relation to the death of a 23-year-old woman within a property in Ferry Road at about 11am on Saturday.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
