Police are investigating after the body of a man in his 20s was found on a riverbank in a Moray town.
The grim discovery was made along the River Isla in Keith earlier this week, and police last night advised residents of continuing activity in the area.
Officers were called to the scene at 7.20pm on Wednesday by a member of the public.
The death is being treated as unexplained, but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances and work is ongoing to identify the man’s next of kin.
Detective Chief Inspector, Matt Mackay, said: “There has been a police presence in the area and police activity will continue.
“If anyone has any information that would help us with this investigation I would ask that they contact the police on 101 quoting reference 3376 of 25 April.”
