Moray police are appealing to the public for assistance to trace the movements of a man who was found dead on a riverbank by the River Isla in Keith.
The body of Ricky O’Connell, 28, from the Inverness area, was found by a member of the public last Wednesday.
Officers have now asked the public to contact them if they saw Ricky or had contact with him in the last month.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Mackay said: “We have issued a photo of Ricky and ask that anyone who may have seen him or spoken to him in the Keith or surrounding areas in the last month contact police on 101 using reference 3376 of April 25.
“Ricky spoke with an Irish accent and it is believed that he had been staying in the Keith area and could well have been seen by members of the public going around the town.
“The death continues to be treated as unexplained and there are no apparent suspicious circumstances. We are in contact with his next of kin and his family are aware of police enquiries.”
