The first song from an album featuring three military wives choirs from the north of Scotland has been released to mark 100 years since the end of World War I.
The groups from Kinloss, Lossiemouth and Inverness have joined more than 1,000 other voices on the album Remember.
Yesterday, the first track was released from the record, entitled The Poppy Red.
The song was especially written for the album by composer Owain Park and takes its inspiration from the 1918 poem We Shall Keep the Faith.
The super group of 69 choirs from across Britain and abroad combine in the recording which features themes of patriotism, military life and remembrance.
Kinloss choir member Lorna Alexander said: “Some of our ladies had family fight in World War I and many did not return.
“It is very important to us that these amazing young men are not forgotten.”
The album, which will be released on June 29 to coincide with Armed Forces Day, also includes upbeat marching songs from World War I.
The Poppy Red can be heard on the Military Wives Choirs Youtube and Facebook sites.
